Why it matters

What this does to artists

Creates a Tribunal for Anti-Sexual Harassment open to complaints outside the employment relationship. For the arts that is decisive: the harm in this sector usually happens between a freelancer and a gatekeeper who is not their employer, which left the Employment Act route unavailable.

Watch this

Remedies are an apology, compensation up to the statutory cap and a fine. It is not a criminal route; the Penal Code remains separate.
